It is with regret that we will have to be having a small price increase for Gents cuts from 1st July 2023 to make our business viable.
The new price will change from £14 to £16.
Since opening ManCave six odd years ago, this would be the third increase. It always upsets me to have to do this, honestly it does.
The first increase was after lockdown purely to try and recoup some of the losses we made, our prices had been fixed for such a length of time, that we had simply underpriced ourselves in the market, so we opened up with exactly the same price structure that we had before and gave everyone notice what we were doing. We did this to not be the people that simply price gouged on the demand.
The second increase was made last year. We increased our prices and introduced a concession for people of a mature age to give our staff a decent pay rise during this crisis, and reduce the price for those of retired age plain and simple.
Obviously at that same time we had increased costs like you would not believe. Rent, electricity, gas, the cost of emptying our bins, telephones and internet, even the disposable neck collars that keep your necks clean have gone through the roof. I personally swallowed that, and more, thinking it is actually only going to be for a few months. Well it has been longer.
I pride myself on running a legitimate business, and happily pay The Taxman for the privilege, but even those costs have gone up, the expense of running ManCave has increased dramatically, and it is with huge regret that we have to do this to make our business viable. It has given me sleepless nights, and my other half would probably say cranky as well. But honestly we have had no choice.
I would argue that we do an amazing job for our cost, and offer a good value for money with our loyalty card, even after the increase, at present when you come in the seven times with your stickers it equates to £12 per haircut. After the rise it is £13.70. And we do not even charge more for a skin fade when everyone else does!
